Taking the opportunity of the rapid and continuous growth of ICT, the Information & Service Systems Innovation Research Group (ISSIRG) and Information Systems Department of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in collaboration with the Malaysia Association for Information Systems Chapter (MyAIS) have embarked to organize the 5th International Conference on Research and Innovation in Information Systems tagged ICRIIS’ 2017 taking place in Langkawi Island.

A total of 234 papers were submitted to ICRIIS’15. Authors are from Australia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, United Kingdom, Iraq, Thailand, Algeria, India, Kuwait, Oman, Palestine, Somalia, Vietnam, apart from Malaysia. All papers were double-blind reviewed by at least 3 reviewers. Out of these, 161 papers were accepted, an acceptance rate of 69%. The accepted papers were again reviewed and published in the following Scopus indexed journals between 2015 and 2016:
1. ARPN Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences (79 Papers)
2. Journal of Theoretical and Applied Information Technology (48 Papers)
2. Indian Journal of Science and Technology (20 Papers)
3. Jurnal Teknologi (14 Papers)

The objective of ICRIIS’17 is to provide a platform for researchers, academicians, professionals, government and private sectors from all over the world to present their research result and innovation in the field of Information Systems and ICT. ICRIIS’17 will be hosted in Langkawi Island, Malaysia. The organizers cordially invite scientists and practitioners in academia, industry and government to share and present their latest findings in IS research and innovation that are related to the conference theme i.e. “Society Transformation Through Social Innovation Systems”.
